EXAM PREPARATION COURSES
Students interested in sitting for an internationally recognised qualification can take an Examination Preparation Course with ECS.
These exams assess your ability to communicate effectively in English in realistic situations, and will provide you with the ideal preparation to use English in your professional and academic life.
These courses are available all year round and vary from 4 to 12 weeks depending on the examination and the needs of the student. Spread over 30 sessions per week, each session being 45 minutes long, students focus on grammar and the use of language and nurture the four language skills.
Cambridge Exams are held three times yearly in March, June and December.
UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIGDE
ESOL Examinations
- KET
- Ideal for those with basic English skills who want to progress towards other Cambridge exams
- PET
- a valuable qualification for anyone who wants to work or study abroad
- FCE
- an upper intermediate exam for those who are confident in written and spoken communication
- CAE
- an advanced exam which indicates the ability to use English effectively in social and professional situations, and in higher education
- CPE
- a very advanced exam suitable for those with a standard of English similar to that of a native speaker
- BEC
- based on realistic business tasks and proves that you can use the language appropriately in a professional context
IELTS
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It measures your ability to communicate in English in all the four language skills – listening and speaking and reading and writing and is meant for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.
Each University will have a required IELTS score for individual courses so it is important to find out what grade you will need.
Exams are held every month. Course Duration 8 to 12 weeks.
Could be booked as Intensive Course, Executive or General and extra Private tuition.
TOEFL
This is an American examination. TOEFL scores are required for purposes of admission to colleges and universities in USA and Canada. In Europe, TOEFL is also used by institutions where English is the language of instruction. Many government agencies and scholarship programmes use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency.

Dedicated Courses
- Medical English
- A multi-skill course required by medical students and personnel for successful communication in their study or work. Essential also for graduates.
- Technical English
- In 4 levels: Lower Intermediate/ Intermediate/Upper Intermediate/Advanced. Deals with a variety of technical topics such as:
- Aviation
- Maritime
- Nautical
- Land transport
- Architecture
- Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
- English Literature
- In 2 Levels: Upper Intermediate/Advanced. An opportunity for all Literature lovers. A choice of famous English novels and plays to choose from. The focus is on vocabulary, style and expressions.
